Geoffrey is a Senior Consultant with Ashurst LLP, a global law firm headquartered in London and with more than 1,600 partners and lawyers across 30 offices in 20 countries.

Geoffrey is a graduate of Oxford University, and has been with Ashurst for 37 years. He specialises in work in the international energy and resources sector, and has extensive experience of advising on major transactions and projects in India, as well as in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

In 1994, Geoffrey established Ashurst’s Liaison Office in India, and he lived in New Delhi with his wife and family through 1994 and 1995. He subsequently headed up Ashurst’s India practice for many years, and has always been closely involved with Ashurst’s India-related work. He says that his time living in India was “a wonderful, life changing experience- we made many dear friends, and since that time India has played a big part in my life and my legal practice”.

Geoffrey has authored and edited numerous publications on energy and resources law, and has for many years been nominated in independent directories as one of the world’s leading energy lawyers.

At UKILP we again have an exciting news to share. We are very honoured to announce that Geoffrey Picton-Turbervill, of Ashurst have agreed to join our advisory board in the UK. Geoffrey was among the first few international lawyers who believed in India and its potentials. In 1994, Geoffrey established Ashurst’s Liaison Office in India, and he lived in New Delhi with his wife and family through 1994 and 1995.
